🎬 Movie Screening: HELLO MAGGIE! with Willie Ito

At 9:15PM we are screening HELLO MAGGIE!, directed by Tony Tarantini, and the man at the center of it will be in the room.
Willie Ito has been drawing for a living since 1953. If you have seen Lady and the Tramp, you have seen his work: he animated on the spaghetti-kissing scene, the single most recognizable moment in the film. From there he went on to Looney Tunes, The Flintstones, The Jetsons, Scooby-Doo, Yogi Bear, Beany & Cecil, The Wuzzles and The Gummi Bears. He retired from Disney in 1999 as Director of International Character Art.
Along the way he collected the Winsor McCay Award from the Annie Awards, a Comic-Con Inkpot Award, Cartoonist of the Year from the Nemo Academy in Florence, and two separate Lifetime Achievement Awards.
After the film, Willie sits down with fellow Disney animator James Lopez for a conversation moderated by animation historian and author Mindy Johnson. Books will be available and Willie will be signing.
This is a rare thing. An animator whose work is in the permanent memory of several generations, in a brewery in Kearny Mesa, talking about it in person. It is free, and you do not need a ticket.

🎨 Featured Artists
The featured artist program is curated by Simeon Jessica of Blossom Garden Collective, who has brought together a lineup of San Diego artists showing and selling work throughout the night.
Kilowatt has always been as much an art project as a brewery. The walls, the labels, the murals, the drink-and-draw nights. The anniversary is when that side of the building gets the floor.
🍻 Beer & Cocktails
🍻 Specialty anniversary beer releases. Limited-edition brews poured for the first time that day, alongside the fan favorites that got us here.
🍹 Full craft cocktail bar, including exclusive AAPI-inspired drinks built for the night.
🍜 Food trucks and 40+ vendors across the Convoy Nights market.
🛍️ Vendors: Applications Are Still Open
Makers, artisans, food vendors and small businesses: we still have room. Convoy Nights is one of the best-attended market nights in the Convoy District and it is free to attend, which means real foot traffic.
